We polish & restore Brass beds the right way.
We completely disassemble the beds down to all the individual parts and make any necessary repairs before we polish all the pieces, clean any polishing compounds and residue then we lacquer coat all the individual parts. Once that is done and the lacquer has cured we assemble the beds back to their original glory and ready to use again.
Why do we see so many old brass bed ?
Brass beds were originally simple and plain. Throughout the centuries, designs have become increasingly elaborate and can contain extensive ornamentation such as porcelain finials. Some brass bed styles include traditional, Art Deco, Victorian, transitional, Edwardian and contemporary. Actual brass beds consisting of headboards and footboards came later, from france, when it was discovered a phylum infestation that had plagued mankind for ages was eradicated by the copper oxcide brass emmits causing the worm eggs not to hatch. The worms would leave the human body during the egg laying part of their cycle, deposit the eggs on the head and footboards, after hatching the tiny worms would ballup and roll into contact with the body, reenter the body and began their cycle again. The french first discovered this, and by 1860 were exporting almost 10,000 beds per week.
